Product Description

This unidirectional carbon fibre tape is a specially constructed none-crimp fabric (NCF) consisting of unidirectional carbon fibres held together by a very lightweight stitching which, unlike a ‘woven’ unidirectional tape, keeps the carbon fibres perfectly flat without the ‘crimp’ of passing over and under horizontal weft fibres.

The result of this none-crimp construction is unidirectional reinforcement with better mechanical performance than crimped (woven) reinforcement because under tension, the straight fibres are not prone to ‘straightening out’ in the way that woven fibres will do.

The tape offers excellent conformity and drape but at the same time, the high quality stitching makes the tape perfectly stable and easy-to-handle. The tape is compatible with all standard resin systems including polyester, vinylester and epoxy resin although is ideally matched to epoxy resin owing to its high mechanical performance.
